Moldovan journalists and activists continued the protest rally in front of the Embassy of Azerbaijan on Friday, September 4. Thus, they expressed their solidarity with Khadija Ismayilova, the investigative journalist sentenced to 7 years and a half in prison, and have urged Azerbaijani authorities to release her.

According to the organizers, anyone is welcome to join in the rally of solidarity with the Azerbaijani journalist. On Friday, the organizers were joined by a group of journalists from the Center for Independent Journalism, reporters from Jurnal TV, as well as other media professionals. Besides, a Facebook group in support of Khadija Ismayilova was created.

On the third day, the protest rally went on without any incidents, while on the preceding day an employee of the Embassy had attempted to hit the camera of the Director of RISE Moldova, Iurie Sanduta. On the third day, one of the servicemen who was ensuring the security of the Embassy suggested that the journalists protest across the road; however, when the protesters asked him on what grounds he urged them to do so, he could not answer and resorted to urging the protesters to stay at least one meter away from the Embassy.
The protest today is the last one planned for this week; however the activists and journalists from RISE Moldova said that they would continue rallying in the coming days.
