The draft “Roadmap” for the media development, updated based on the proposals of the participants in the second edition of the Media Forum in Moldova held on 2nd-3rd of December 2016 in Chisinau, was published on the Forum’s website http://mediaforum.md/event.

The “Roadmap” for the media development in the Republic of Moldova was drafted at the first edition of the Media Forum held on 27th-28th of October 2015. The document formulates the main constraints impeding the development of the media outlets and includes an action plan for the elimination/diminution of these constraints and for setting the required conditions for the sustainable development, for the establishment and strengthening of a climate of fair competition and editorial independence of the mass-media institutions in our country.

The participants in the second edition of the Media Forum (2nd – 3rd of December 2016) decided to update and supplement the “Roadmap” and an initiative group, consisting of representatives of the organisers and of the facilitators of the thematic workshops held within the Media Forum 2016, adapted the document to the current situation, taking into account the relevant proposals of the participants in the Forum.
Journalists, managers and other staff of the media outlets can submit, until the 5th of January 2017, proposals for the improvement of the draft that will be analysed by the initiative group.

The full version of the “Roadmap” for the media development in the Republic of Moldova will be submitted to the national authorities, to embassies and representations of foreign states, to international organisations that monitor the democratic developments in Moldova.

The updated draft of the “Roadmap” for the media development in Moldova can be accessed on the website: www.mediaforum.md/event, under the column “Documents”. The proposals may be submitted by e-mail: secretariat@consiliuldepresa.md
