“Divided by Two”: Gender-Based Violence and Moldovan Legislation

The second show of the “Divided by Two” [Romanian “Împărțit la doi”] cycle presents the story of a woman who was victim of domestic violence and for over ten years had been trying to find justice in Moldova, but without success. Her case eventually came to the attention of the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women. You can find out further details in the show.

The Independent Journalism Center has been producing “Divided by Two” shows since May, aiming to bring gender issues to the attention of the public and to present positive models of involvement of women and men in various spheres of life.

“Divided by Two” shows are produced as part of the “Media for Gender Balance” campaign implemented by the Independent Journalism Center with the financial support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency through the Embassy of Sweden in Chisinau.
