Dozens of journalists, lawyers and civic activists protested on Tuesday, October 10, in front of the Superior Council of Magistracy (SCM) against adoption of a restrictive regulation on the publication of court judgments on the national portal of courts. Under the pressure of public opinion, judges eventually voted for another regulation, proposed by the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ). This latter version is better, but it still leaves room for interpretation.

This topic was discussed in the 59th edition of the show “Media Azi” [Media Today] by journalist Nicolae Negru as host and journalist Mariana Rata of the Journalistic Investigations Center as his guest.

This edition reveals why it is important for media representatives that the judgments of national courts not be anonymized, as the regulation proposed by the SCM stipulated. The journalists also speak about the alternative regulation, adopted at the SCM meeting on October 10, and about why Moldovan media should keep an eye on justice.
