Media NGOs condemn the language used by the leader of ‘Partidul Nostru’ Renato Usatii towards the TV8 journalist Mariana Rata.

On 5 May 2021, Renato Usatii displayed inappropriate behaviour towards the moderator of the ‘Black Box’ talk show. More precisely, in response to the questions asked by journalist Mariana Rata, the politician used against her inappropriate accusations and language, which violate the person's honor and dignity, and go against the behavioral norms generally accepted in a democratic society.

The signatory organizations express their indignation at this inappropriate behavior, recalling that this is not the first time when the politician manifests an inadmissible attitude towards the media.

We demand that the politician Renato Usatii make a public apology to the TV8 journalist, Mariana Rata, and use decent language and behavior, and that he refrain in the future from behaving in any way that is intolerant in relation to journalists and mass-media institutions.
