President Igor Dodon is concerned by the fact that in Moldova there are media outlets and NGOs funded from the West, and he wonders how the civil society and independent media would react if Russia did the same thing. This issue has been discussed in the 52nd edition of the “Media Azi” broadcast by journalist Nicolae Negru as host and Cornelia Cozonac, director of the Journalistic Investigations Center, as his guest.
So, how do NGOs get money from the West? What criteria should an organization meet so as to qualify for a grant? And what will we have left if we get no more funding from the West?
Also, find out what participants of the show think about the initiative of the Moldovan minister of justice to limit the activity of externally funded NGOs and whether there is any link between this initiative and President Dodon's statements.
