The Broadcasting Coordinating Council (BCC) published the list of candidates who applied for the six vacancies on the Supervisory Board (SB) of the public company Teleradio-Moldova (TRM). According to BCC, 24 people registered for the competition.
The list of candidates includes the executive director of the Independent Press Association (IPA) Petru Macovei, the program director of the radio station Radio Moldova Actualitati Ion Bunduchi, and the activist and journalist Oleg Brega.
Two members of the Supervisory Board whose terms expires on December 23rd, Eugen Rabca and Vitalie Tapes, are also among the candidates. The other applicants are as follows: Alexandru Grosu, Nicu Scorpan, Vasile Chirilescu, Tudor Osoianu, Nicolae Spataru, Dumitru Tira, Ilie Rotaru, Grigore Ciorici, Snejana Balan, Valentin Dorogan, Alexandru Popovici, Stela Nistor, Iurie Crijanovschi, Lilian Boboc, Alexandru Leanca, Ludmila Vasilache, Lilia Gurez, Andrei Luchianciuc and Rodica Rosca.
BCC President Marian Pocaznoi said that applicants for the vacant positions mostly comply with the criteria prescribed by the Broadcasting Code.
At the next BCC meeting, its members are to select 12 finalists out of the 24 candidates. Then, Parliament is to choose six new members for the SB, who shall appear before the parliamentary committee for mass-media for the final authorization.
