The Survey on Advertising Was Publicized

The Independent Journalism Centre made public the study entitled “Evaluation of the legal framework regulating the advertising and recommendations for its optimisation”.

The document's authors, the media expert, Ion Bunduchi and the lawyer, Eugeniu Râbca, analysed the current situation in the field of advertising. The survey is based on relevant reports, statistical data, interviews with people of the respective field. The paper makes a review of the national legal framework and of its compliance with the European good practices. It also analyses the mechanisms intended to secure and protect the fair competition and the transparency of mass-media advertising. At the end, the authors present their conclusions and recommendations for the tools to be implemented in order to improve the situation in this area. The document may be accessed in Romanian, English and Russian languages.

The study was launched on 10th of November in the framework of a public debate attended by members of Parliament, members of the Broadcasting Coordinating Council, representatives of the Competition Council and of the Consumer Protection Agency, journalists, representatives of advertising agencies, etc.

The study was conducted with the financial support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, provided by the means of the Embassy of Sweden in Chișinău.
