The authors of the Cotidianul TV project announce they will sue the BC after their application for license was rejected three times

The administration of People For Free Media intends to challenge in court the Broadcasting Council (BC) decisions to reject broadcasting license applications for the Cotidianul TV (CTV) television station. At the last meeting on this subject, which was the third, the BC members again said they had found discrepancies between the structure of the audiovisual media service and the TV listings.

Администрация People For Free Media намерена обжаловать в суде решения Совета по телевидению и радио (СТР) об отказе в выдаче лицензии на вещание телеканалу Cotidianul TV (CTV). На последнем, третьем по счету, заседании, члены СТР объявили, что вновь обнаружили несоответствия между структурой аудиовизуальной медиауслуги и сеткой вещания.

Consiliul Audiovizualului (CA) a sancționat cu avertizare publică posturile de televiziune Prime, Publika TV, Canal 2, Canal 3 și CTC Mega – unele pentru un număr insuficient de programe audiovizuale locale în limba română, altele pentru că nu au difuzat cotele necesare ale unor astfel de conținuturi în orele de maximă audiență.

Data about site owners, still inaccessible. Here is what ITCSS representatives say

Information about individuals or legal entities that own .md domains remains inaccessible to the general public even a year after the state company MoldData promised that access would be restored “in the near future.” The Information Technology and Cyber Security Service (ITCSS) claims, in a response to Media Azi, that it is taking measures to make those data public again.

Совет по телерадиовещанию (СТР) применил санкции и вынес открытое предупреждение телеканалам Prime, Publika TV, Canal 2, Canal 3 и CTC Mega – – одним из-за недостаточного количества местных аудиовизуальных программ на румынском языке, другим из-за того, что они не транслировали необходимое количество такого контента в прайм-тайм.

Informațiile despre persoanele fizice sau juridice care dețin domenii .md rămân în continuare inaccesibile publicului larg, la un an după ce MoldData a promis că accesul va fi restabilit „într-o perspectivă apropiată”. Serviciul Tehnologia Informaţiei şi Securitate Cibernetică (STISC) susține, într-un răspuns pentru Media Azi, că întreprinde măsuri pentru ca datele respective să redevină publice.

Cel puțin trei jurnaliști ruși au avut de suferit în urma acțiunilor organelor de forță din Belarus, în timpul protestelor declanșate în seara de 9 august, la încheierea alegerilor prezidențiale. Portalul DailyStorm anunță că reprezentanții forțelor de ordine au arestat doi corespondenți ai redacției, Anton Starkov și Dmitri Lasenko.

The online edition of the Fifth Power Media Hackathon announced its winners

On Sunday, August 9, 2020, the Independent Journalism Center named the winners of the sixth edition of the Fifth Power Media Hackathon with the theme Media Literacy: Analyze, Raise Awareness, Create. In the three days of competition, between August 7 and 9, 2020, nine teams had the mission to develop applications and tools that will contribute to the development of students' critical thinking skills.

    Centrul pentru Jurnalism Independent a desemnat duminică, 9 august 2020, câştigătorii celei de-a VI-a ediţii a hackathonului media Puterea a cincea cu tema Educaţie media: analizăm, conştientizăm, creăm. Timp de trei zile de concurs, în perioada 7-9 august 2020, 9 echipe au avut misiunea să elaboreze aplicaţii şi instrumente care vor contribui la dezvoltarea gândirii critice a elevilor.
