The BCC will monitor broadcasters during the electoral campaign

At a briefing today, 17 October, the Broadcasting Coordinating Council (BCC) announced about its intention to monitor broadcasting media outlets during the electoral campaign for the parliamentary elections of 30 November 2014.

In this context, BCC President Dinu Ciocan mentioned that the broadcasting regulator already approved 112 statements of broadcasters, of which 97 (53 televisions and 44 radios) expressed their intention to cover the electoral campaign and 15 (7 televisions and 8 radios) said they would not commit to it.

Journalists’ access to the Parliament discussed at a round table

Participants at the round table organized by the Independent Journalism Center discussed the issue of the media access into the Parliament’s meeting room. Civil society representatives present at the discussion spoke about historical, legal and technical aspects of the problem. The only MP that participated in the debates, Corina Fusu, tried to explain the reasons behind the problem. At the same time, there were few journalists at the event, although the topic discussed concerned them directly.

Участники встречи за круглым столом, организованной Центром независимой журналистики, обсудили вопрос доступа прессы в зал заседаний Парламента. Присутствующие представители гражданского общества говорили об исторических, юридических и технических аспектах проблемы. Единственный депутат, принявший участие в обсуждении, Корина Фусу, попыталась объяснить причины проблемы. В то же время, журналистов на встрече было не много, хотя обсуждаемая тема касалась их непосредственно.

Reporting to SEENPM´s Board, the Executive Director provides strategic vision, high-level institutional representation and leadership, and management of the network´s secretariat.

This is a full time position based in the region or its vicinity. The salary will be competitive and commensurate with candidate’s location, skills and experience.

Reprezentanți ai societății civile, ai instituțiilor mass-media, ai Consiliului Coordonator al Audiovizualului au discutat despre îngrădirea accesului presei în sala de ședințe a Parlamentului. Discuțiile au avut loc în cadrul unui eveniment public organizat joi, 16 octombrie de către Centrul pentru Jurnalism Independent (CJI), cu suportul Agenţiei SUA pentru Dezvoltare Internaţională (USAID), în cadrul proiectului FHI 360 „Parteneriate pentru o Societate Civilă Durabilă în Moldova”.
