3rd International Citizen Media Award 2013

The 3rd International Citizen Media Award intends to honor tremendous national (Germany) and international work in the field of citizen media and its products in the categories VIDEO and AUDIO that have been created by private, non-commercial producers.
The award distinguishes the dedication of citizens of all countries and their audiovisual products and their reporting concerning locally, regionally, globally and socially relevant topics.

The topic for the award 2013 is: Citizen Media for Democracy and Tolerance – Against Racism and Right – Wing Extremism
TV and radio productions shall be developed that raise awareness for right – wing ideology and its actual impact in Germany, Europe or any other country in the world. Both nationally and internationally the participants shall locally and regionally take a stand against right – wing extremism with their submitted products on screen and in the internet.

Product language (Rubrik INTERNATIONAL):

English or mother tongue including English subtitles/ translation
Products in the category VIDEO (without subtitles) or AUDIO using mother tongue must include a translation (transcript) as a document!

Technical standards:

VIDEO: 
At least PAL with 720 x 576 pixels (having the aspect ratio 16:9 or 4:3)
Recommendations for subtitles:
Arial (font), white with black margin, size 16
maximum of 2 lines per subtitle (page), centered

AUDIO: As WAV or MP3

Announcement of the award winners

The winners of the International Citizen Media Award will be awarded in the end of November 2013 in the framework of an intercultural event taking place in the Citizen Centre Bennohaus. The award show will take place in the scope of this event.
