The Chisinau School of Advanced Journalism announces enrollment for the 2015-2016 school year

The Independent Journalism Center in cooperation with Missouri School of Journalism (USA) and Journalism School and Training Center (Paris, France) announces the opening of the application process for postgraduate studies at the Chisinau School of Advanced Journalism for the 2015-2016 school year.

The School of Advanced Journalism is based on advanced postgraduate curriculum for journalists according to international standards practiced in Europe and USA.

Well-known journalists from Moldova and professionals from abroad are teaching the courses. The School has professional equipment for courses in TV, radio and photo journalism, and other necessary materials for acquiring practical skills in journalism.

The duration of studies is ten month, while the list of courses taught range from News writing, to Radio Journalism, to TV Journalism, Media Law, Ethics, On-line journalism, Investigative reporting, Economic and business reporting, Photojournalism, Media management, and so forth.

As of this year, a new course on Data Journalism will be introduced in the curriculum.

Courses are offered on a tuition fee basis (sponsorships from media, nongovernmental, commercial and state institutions are accepted). Tuition fee equals to 500 EUR and can be paid as follows: 100 EUR upon signing the contract and the remaining sum divided in two installments payable at the beginning of each semester.

Also, three to five candidates may qualify for scholarships, while students with good progress will get a fee reduction.

A Certificate of Studies is awarded after the final project is completed and presented at the end of the academic year. It is signed by the Independent Journalism Center, the Missouri School of Journalism (USA) and Press Now.

Selection of candidates will be made upon submission of the following documents:

  • CV
  • Letter of motivation
  • Three journalistic pieces (not necessarily published)
  • Two references
  • Copy of diploma certifying undergraduate studies (final year students can submit a certificate confirming their status)
  • Copy of ID card

The selection process will end with a written test and an interview. Applications may be submitted either by in print or in electronic format.

Deadline for application: 10 April 2015, 18.00.
