Journalism students learned how hate speech can be controlled online

Hate speech online and on social networks was the topic of a new lesson that was organized on Tuesday, November 2, by the Independent Journalism Center (IJC) for the students of the journalism department of the Moldova State University.
This time, two experts participated in the meeting with the students – Dumitru Ciorici, co-founder of Agora.md, and Ion Bambuleac, lawyer of the Non-Discrimination Coalition.

Despre fenomenul manipulării informaționale, formele ei de manifestare, dar și metodele prin care poate fi combătută manipularea informațională s-a discutat în cadrul ședinței Clubului de Presă de miercuri, 2 decembrie. Evenimentul a fost organizat de către Centrul pentru Jurnalism Independent cu suportul Agenției SUA pentru Dezvoltare Internațională (USAID), în cadrul proiectului „Parteneriate pentru o Societate Civilă Durabilă în Moldova”, implementat de FHI 360.

RISE Moldova director Iurie Sanduta and journalist Mihai Munteanu published on Thursday, December 3, an investigation that featured a number of documents including an alleged letter of prosecutor Ivan Diacov to mogul Vladimir Plahotniuc and transcripts disclosing certain criminal links attributed to Democratic Party MP Constantin Tutu.

Информационное манипулирование, его формы и методы борьбы с ним стали предметом обсуждения на заседании Клуба прессы в среду, 2 декабря. Мероприятие было организовано Центром независимой журналистики при поддержке Агентства США по международному развитию (USAID) в рамках проекта «Партнерства для устойчивого гражданского общества в Молдове», внедряемого организацией FHI 360.

Журналистка Лина Грыу, ведущая мероприятия, направила обсуждение по двум аспектам манипулирования через СМИ: внутреннее и внешнее манипулирование.

IJC Press Club: Mass media shouldn’t become a resonator of manipulation

The phenomenon of informational manipulation, its forms, and the methods for combating it were discussed at the Press Club meeting on Wednesday, December 2. The event was organized by the Independent Journalism Center (IJC) with the support of the U. S. Agency for International Development (USAID) as part of the “Partnerships for Sustainable Civil Society in Moldova” project implemented by FHI 360.
Journalist Lina Grau, moderator of the event, focused the discussion on two aspects of manipulation through mass media: internal and external manipulation.

International conference in Chisinau: Citizens need to know their way around the “media jungle”

Dozens of teachers, academia representatives, local and international experts participated in the period of November 26-27 in an international conference where they discussed the need to educate teaching professionals in media literacy. Media experts from Germany, Romania, Ukraine, Russia, the Baltic States and Moldova shared their experience in media education and the ways to promote media culture in schools and universities.
