Media NGOs urge the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Office of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Moldova to investigate the incident involving a journalist. It occurred Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at the courthouse in the town of Orhei, where a criminal case involving as witness MP Constantin Tutu was to be heard. Catalina Rosca, reporter of Jurnal TV Channel, claims that a person accompanying Democrat MP Constantin Tutu assaulted her physically, punching her in the stomach. Her statements were confirmed by lawyer Roman Zadoinov, who had witnessed the incident.

The Law on Media Ownership Transparency voted in Parliament without the Amendment on Offshore Zones

The draft Law on Amending and Supplementing the Broadcasting Code of Moldova that includes provisions on the transparency of media ownership was approved by Parliament on Thursday, March 5. The Law was to provide an answer to the key question for the media and society in general: who are the real owners of the media outlets? The civil society representatives who have been waiting for years for the approval of the amendments to the Law, committed to monitoring its enforcement, so that it does not fall into the steps of other "stillborn" laws.

Comisia cultură, educație, cercetare, tineret, sport și mass-media a examinat, miercuri, 4 martie, Proiectul de lege pentru modificarea și completarea Codului audiovizualului al R.Moldova nr.260 din 27.07.2006, cu toate amendamentele acumulate până în prezent  și, cu vot unanim, a decis sa-l prezinte Biroului permanent al Parlamentului pentru a fi inclus pe ordinea de zi și discutat în lectura a doua.

 În perioada cât am avut acreditare la Parlament (anii 1998-2011), în calitate de reporter la Radio Europa Liberă, apoi de corespondent la Agenția de știri NewsIn/București și ulterior la postul Radio România în R. Moldova - întotdeauna am avut acces direct și liber în sala de ședințe a legislativului. Este un lucru firesc, normal și democratic.

В период, когда я была аккредитована в парламенте (1998-2011 гг.) в качестве репортера радиостанции «Свободная Европа», а затем в качестве корреспондента румынского информагентства «NewsIn» и радиостанции «Radio România» в Молдове, у меня всегда был свободный доступ в зал заседаний законодательного органа. Это нормально и демократично.

When I used to be accredited at Parliament (1998-2011) as a reporter for Free Europe Radio and later as a correspondent of the NewsIn news agency (Bucharest) and the Romania Radio station in Moldova, I always enjoyed free direct access to the meeting hall of Parliament. It is a normal democratic setup.
