The opportunity to learn how to do quality journalism and produce news and reports has been provided to 5 interns from Transnistrian region. They participated in an internship program organized by the IJC in the period of November-December in Chisinau.
Journalists were hosted by the editorial offices of the Panorama newspaper, www.kommersant.md news portal, and the local office of the international broadcasting company MIR, where they worked side by side with television professionals, print and online journalists, who shared the knowledge and working methods specific to their media outlets.
“It was interesting for me to understand the specifics of online media, to work intensively, to analyze and investigate the incoming information flow, to add the comments of various sources, and thus to produce complete materials,” said Maxim P., one of the interns at kommersant.md.
Although interns still have much to learn, the editor of kommersant.md Vladimir Soloviov noted that media organization that he represents would be interested in an eventual collaboration with them.
“While I am still a student, the internship for me has been very well-timed. I managed to understand the specifics of TV news, participate in the process of video editing, and learn to express my thoughts shortly and clearly, as the news format requires it,” said Anastasia I., intern at the local office of the international broadcasting company MIR.
The IJC mentioned that beginning in February 2014, other 5 journalists from Gagauzia will participate in the internship conducted as part of the project “Promoting the rights of minorities and marginalized groups from Transnistrian and Gagauzian regions through the media”, implemented by the IJC with financial support of Civil Rights Defenders.
