Trial dossiers can no longer be searched by the name of the person involved in lawsuits. This decision has been taken recently by the Ministry of Justice and drew more criticism from journalists, lawyers, and civil society, who insisted that the decision at issue has no legal basis. It was the subject of the Edition 31 of  ”Media Azi” Broadcast, in which the journalist Anastasia Nani, the moderator, discussed with her guests, Valentina Grigoris, Deputy Director of the Agency for Courts Management, an institution under the Ministry of Justice, and the journalist Mariana Rata from the Center for Investigative Journalism.

Learn more from the mentioned broadcast, why the journalists, especially the investigative ones, claim that the Ministry's decision is a violation of the access to information; how the Ministry representative motivates the adoption of such a decision and what solutions exist, according to Valentina Grigoris point of view, who has been invited to participate at the discussions, to reconcile all parties.

According to Mariana Rata, who has been invited, as well to share her point of view, in essence the issue should be about "a premeditated action of the authorities" who misinterpret the Law on protection of personal data, and removing the module -search by name on the website of the courts would be a conclusive evidence to that effect.

When being asked, how the decision of the Ministry of Justice would affect the investigative journalism, Mariana Rata answered: "We are greatly affected, on the grounds that in the investigative journalism we often deal with documents and a court judgment is a very good document for us. Until we find a solution investigative journalism will suffer in Moldova. "
