Is there solidarity in the journalistic community of Moldova? Moderator Nicolae Negru and his guest, acting president of the Union of Journalists of Moldova Valeriu Saharneanu, tried to answer this question in the 36th edition of the “Media Azi” broadcast.
The two protagonists of the show discuss about the ability of journalists to unite, to self-organize, to act together for their working conditions, for their rights, their wages, to defend freedom of expression and the values of free press... You can find out about their conclusions from the show.
They tried to answer other questions, as well: Why in 2004, for example, journalists were able to unite against the censorship at Radio Moldova but now they stand on opposite sides of the barricades? Why the pro-European governments that came to power after 2009 did not create conditions for the development of free media? Is a journalists’ strike imaginable in today’s conditions?
You can also learn about the current situation of the Union of Journalists of Moldova and about the problems of this organization, which might unite media representatives around common ideas and values.
