By means of this app, the authors of the project aimed to create a useful tool for journalists and for active and responsible citizens present in social networks. “After the official launch that we held at the end of April, DIY News was installed by 323 people who are actively using it,” Victoria Colesnic, a member of the team, told Media Azi.
Where do we find it and how does it work? The app is available for free on Google Store and Apple Store and can be installed by anyone who wants it.
The person who has the app on his mobile phone has to film a situation that could be the subject of news, either with the phone or directly in the DIY News app, after which the following questions will appear on the phone screen: Where? When? Who is participating in the action? What happened? Why? - which he will have to answer. Also, a witness’s comment or any information that he considers important can be added. After these operations, the news is posted on Facebook or any other social networking site.
Through Media Azi, the DIY News team encouraged citizens to take advantage of this free tool, which will help them create attractive content, because: “It’s a simple and quick way to send a message or news further.”
