The Winner of the Media Misinformation Campaign Grants Was Announced

The Independent Journalism Center announced the winners of the Media Misinformation Campaign grants offered within the project “Media Enabling Democracy, Inclusion and Accountability in Moldova” (MEDIA-M).

Having assessed the applications, the jury selected the following winner:

LEADGEN SRL (Project: Fighting News and False Statements by Fact Checking and Developing Interactive Video Content)8 applications were submitted to the competition, and evaluation criteria included: creative combination of actors / use of new technologies; implementation plan, practical offer with well-established deadlines for each part; appropriate target audience, promotion and sustainability plans.

The jury members were Petru Macovei, executive director of the Association of Independent Press; Diana Raileanu, journalist, Radio Free Europe; Dumitru Lazur, media expert; Dona Scola, co-founder of the Generator Hub.

Media Misinformation Campaign Grants are offered by the Independent Journalism Center as a part of the “Media Enabling Democracy, Inclusion and Accountability in Moldova” (MEDIA-M) project, funded by USAID and implemented by Internews. The "Media Enabling Democracy, Inclusion and Accountability in Moldova" project aims to promote the development of an independent, professional media in Moldova that gives citizens access to a variety of perspectives and fosters a media sector that is more resilient to political and financial pressures.
