Over the past two years, the Independent Journalism Center (IJC) has constantly monitored the media in order to see if it manipulates information or not. All reports published so far show that some media outlets and journalists often resort to various information manipulation techniques.
The most common manipulation techniques were discussed in the 60th edition of the “Media Azi” [Media Today] show by Executive Director of IJC Nadine Gogu, the host of the show, and her guest Viorica Zaharia, chair of the Press Council and author of the reports produced by the IJC.
What is manipulation through omission, labeling, blurring and selective presentation of facts? From the show you can find out in which cases journalists resort to these and other manipulative techniques and devices.
You will also see what a correct news story should look like and why it is important for the facts to be presented objectively and accurately.
