The draft law no. 161, known as the “Big Brother” law, registered in the Parliament in April 2016, could be examined shortly in the plenary sitting of the MPs.

The journalist Ivan Sveatcenko, the moderator of the show, and his guest Alexei Marciuc, the director of the information policy institute,    the representative of the American Bar Association, the Rule of Law Initiative in Moldova (ABA ROLI), discuss in the 67th edition of "Media Azi" the risks the draft law poses to freedom of expression in the online space.

Find out why journalists, internet providers and civil society in general are still concerned about this document; which provisions of the document could be interpreted in way which could lead to censorship in the virtual space instead of ensuring informational security.

You will also see why, according to the show participants, the draft law contains several gaps, even if it was submitted to public consultations for a longer period of time, and why authors did not take into account the recommendations of national and international experts, including those of the Venice Commission.
