During 11-13 June, the Independent Journalism Center conducted a training program in audience and digital development of media institutions. During the training, a number of media experts were trained in identifying the main features of a media portal audience, the techniques that can be used to maintain and expand the target audience, etc.
The training was conducted by Jason Lambert and Michelle Foster – two foreign experts specialised in the new media and founders of ‘Newsgaing’ organisation. Over the years, they have supported media institutions in several countries, helping them to strengthen their management, marketing strategies, and online performance.

For three days, experts got acquainted with the way Google Analytics stores and provides online audience data, with the critical performance indicators of a media website, with the measurement values they need to pay attention to, with the way audience reports can be customized, etc.
Andrei Cibotaru, one of the participants, mentioned among the benefits of this training the fact that experts have learned to properly analyze the audience indicators provided by the Google Analytics platform and to develop their skills to this end in order to increase the revenue from online advertising’.

The participants in the training are expected to provide in-house advice to a group of national media institutions on issues related to audience and online management.
