Most independent press institutions in the Republic of Moldova survive thanks to grants from the West. What would happen if this financial support did not exist anymore? Several editorial offices of Chisinau are asking again for people’s help through crowdfunding. But everything is still at the beginning. RISE Moldova, for example, has recently carried out the first investigations on readers' money.

How does crowdfunding work in a small market, like Moldova?

The topic was discussed during a new edition of Media Azi program, moderated by journalist Nicolai Paholnițchi, who had journalist Dumitru Stoianov, founder of RISE Moldova, as his guest.

The show can be viewed on www.moldova-azi.md, www.media-azi.md and www.mediacritica.md portals and on the IJC’s Youtube channel.Media Azi show is produced within the MEDIA-M project, implemented by Internews with the financial support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The content of this edition is the responsibility of the Independent Journalism Center and does not necessarily reflect the views of USAID or of the US Government.
