Media Azi: The Cartel Agreement on the TV Advertising Market – an Investigation without Answer. Marcel Raducan: ‘The Investigation Will Continue Until We Get a Nice Case File’

The representatives of PRO TV Chisinau, Jurnal TV, TV 8 and RTR Moldova asked the Competition Council, in January 2018, to investigate an alleged cartel agreement between Casa Media and Exclusiv Sales advertising sales houses. Despite the request, the case file failed to gather all the evidence. Marcel Raducan, Chair of the Competition Council, motivated this delay by the fact that this was a ‘complicated case happening for the first time in Moldova’.

While media managers complain that the monopoly on the advertising market brings them significant financial losses, Marcel Raducan argues: ‘The investigation will continue until we get a nice case file, and not a case file made at one’s order, as we are accused of’.
