The Broadcasting Coordinating Council (BCC) has approved a draft decision requiring cable operators to rebroadcast programs of the Romanian TVR 1, starting December 1st, for free. The decision was made after representatives of the two states signed an agreement on the broadcasting of the Romanian television channel in Moldova.

BCC members also decided to provide the Romanian public TV channel with a slot in the experimental digital multiplex in Chisinau. The Chairman of the BCC, Marian Pocaznoi, specified that in 2015, when Moldova switches to digital broadcasting, TVR-1 will definitely receive a slot in the first national multiplex.

Meanwhile in Romania, the Council of National Television and Radio Broadcasting decided, on November 14th, that the Romanian public television can broadcast special programs for Moldovan audiences on the territory of Moldova.

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) informed TVR-1 representatives on November 7th that it had taken note of the signing of the agreement between the authorities of Romania and those of the Republic of Moldova. Thus, an older claim by TVR-1 against the Moldovan authorities was settled and removed from the ECHR's agenda.

On September 12th, after lenghty negotiations, the interstate agreement on the resumption of broadcasting of the Romanian public television channel TVR 1 on the territory of the Republic of Moldova was signed.
