The Broadcasting Council (BC) suspended the broadcasting license for Impact TV for a six-month period at a meeting held on January 11. The request of Marcel Darie, who owns Impact TV through the MEDIA MAX Company, served as a reason.
In his request submitted to the Council Marcel Darie states that he did not have enough funds to maintain the said media project.
The request was examined in his absence.
BC members present at the meeting voted unanimously to suspend the license.
Marcel Darie is the Chairman of ‘Frontul Salvarii Moldovei‘ [Moldova's Salvation Front] (FSM) Party. Previously he announced that his party will participate in the Parliamentary elections of February 2019 as an election candidate.
