Fact-checkingul pe politicile și pe declarațiile publice este unul dintre instrumentele prin care pot fi responsabilizați decidenții politici. Factual.ro este prima platformă de acest fel din România și, momentan, singura dedicată exclusiv și constant fact-checkingului politic. Echipa platformei ia la puricat declarații din varii domenii ale politicienilor, si nu numai.
În căutarea adevărului din spatele declarațiilor este folosită expertiza cumulată a echipei: „știm ce rapoarte să citim, știm care sunt sursele relevante și știm cum să le explicăm cât mai despleticit, pe înțelesul tuturor”. Proiectul a fost fondat de un grup de ONG-iști, corporatiști, antreprenori și consultanți politici interesați de bună guvernare. Din august 2014, proiectul e implementat de Asociația Funky Citizens.
