The applications for vacant positions can be send by 11 September 2019. The candidates should hold the citizenship of the Republic of Moldova, have permanent residence during last five years on the territory of Gagauzia, have higher education and a clean legal record.
The position of member of the SB of GRT is incompatible with the status of MP of the PA, member of the Executive Board of Gagauzia, counselor in the local public administration or state official. Also, the employees of the PA office and of the Executive Board, the employees of GRT Company or of other media institutions may not work in the SB.
Also, in order to avoid conflicts of interest, SB members may not be members of a political party, public political organisations, nor hold shares or a stake in commercial organisations in the field.
We remind that the former SB members Igor Ianak, Andrei Mihailov and Ivan Terzi were dismissed by the PA because they were representatives of certain socio-political and political organisations, and Andrei Mihailov and Ludmila Moga – because they work in the same organisation (Gagauz-gaz), which is also prohibited by the regional broadcasting law.
Executive Director of Piligrim-Demo organisation from the Gagauz autonomy, Mihail Sirkeli, has explained earlier to Media-azi.md that the provisions of the current Broadcasting Law in Gagauzia allow MPs to dismiss SB members, which is criticised by his organisation.
According to him, GRT is one of the most important sources of information about domestic events for the Autonomy’s population.
