La mijlocul lunii august, organizațiile neguvernamentale de media au lansat un apel la adresa noii guvernări a Republicii Moldova, instaurată după alegerile parlamentare anticipate din iulie 2021, solicitând Parlamentului și Guvernului să vină cu reforme reale în domeniul mass-media. Semnatarii reaminteau că în sertarele aleșilor poporului se prăfuiesc un șir de proiecte de legi care ar contribui la dezvoltarea presei, de la publicitate și acces la informație, la facilități fiscale și informarea în cadrul exercițiilor electorale. Mai mult, și propunerea ca Ministerul Justiției să fie instituția responsabilă de promovarea politicilor statului în domeniul mass-media, promovată în primăvara anului trecut, nu și-a găsit o finalitate.
În această ediție a emisiunii Media Azi, experții Ion Bunduchi și Tatiana Puiu vorbesc despre așteptările societății civile și breslei jurnalistice în ceea ce privește presa; președinta noii comisii parlamentare de profil, Liliana Nicolaescu-Onofrei, prezintă prioritățile Legislativului pentru sector, iar ministrul Justiției, Sergiu Litvinenco, explică la ce etapă se află inițiativa ca ministerul pe care îl conduce să preia gestionarea domeniului.
Realizarea emisiunii Media Azi a fost posibilă datorită suportului generos din partea poporului american și britanic prin intermediul Agenției Statelor Unite pentru Dezvoltare Internațională (USAID) și UK.
