On Wednesday, the Parliament’s legal committee approved a draft law prohibiting tobacco advertizing.

“Any direct or indirect form of advertizing for tobacco products shall be prohibited, including radio and television advertising, advertizing through electronic communication networks, outdoor and indoor advertizing, advertizing outside and inside tobacco selling outlets, advertizing on transport and by mailing, advertizing on smoking accessories and any other type of advertizing,” the draft Government proposal says.

Also, according to this draft, smoking will be prohibited in some public spaces, including parks, children’s playgrounds, arenas and stadiums, and cigarette selling will be prohibited between 22.00 and 08.00. In addition, the law prohibits sales of cigarettes with flavoring, and cigarette packets will have to bear new warnings, including photos showing the harm of smoking.
