Scop:
Ensuring the sustainability of previous efforts in promoting media literacy/media education and developing the critical thinking among media consumers in Moldova.
Activități:
Developing textbook on media education for the gymnasium level. IJC experts developed the curriculum on media education for the gymnasium level in 2017. In 2018, the National Council for Curriculum under the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research approved the document. Based on this curriculum, IJC experts are now developing a Media Education handbook for the gymnasium level (7th-8th classes).
The goal of the ‘Fifth Power’ Media Hackathon is to promote media literacy and critical thinking among media consumers. More details are available on the event page: http://hackathon4.media-azi.md/
Follow up meeting with the participation of teachers who attended trainings in 2017-2018 in order to teach the optional course Media Education.
Promotion of Media Education course is an activity aimed at encouraging teachers to select the optional course Media Education for the education year 2018-2019. The IJC has already produced short videos on media education and will intensively promote them via all channels.
