The Press Club of Chisinau – the Independent Journalism Center (IJC) and the Press Freedom Committee (PFC) – named the best journalists of 2017 at the 23^rd Annual Gala of the Press Club, organized on December 14 in Chisinau.

At the awards gala, the National Prize for Professional Journalistic Ethics, offered by the Press Council, was given to the weekly investigative newspaper Ziarul de Garda.

The Best Journalists of the Year Awards Gala has been organized by the Chisinau Press Club every year since 1995. The main goal of this action, which falls under the objective of contributing to the strengthening of professional journalism, is to support and encourage journalists’ efforts of achieving quality in the media and adhering to international professional standards.
