Call for Applications: Experts for Training on Data Processing and Fact Checking

The Independent Journalism Center (IJC), in partnership with Internews in Moldova, is looking for an international expert and an expert from Moldova, who will be contracted as experts for a training event on data processing and fact checking.

Experts are expected to share their knowledge, capitalizing on their own experience and answering questions so as to help participants understand the tools and abilities needed for journalists to check and use data in the process of researching and producing journalistic materials.

The lesson plan shall be prepared by trainers, and the lesson shall comprise theoretical and practical content, including individual and group exercises involving direct engagement of participants. In addition, participants should be able to ask questions and share their thoughts, and trainers should provide answers to the questions they find most helpful to all participants.
The target audience includes journalists, creators of programs and shows, editors and other interested persons.

General presentation of the applicant
Plan of training
Budget planned

Applications shall be submitted by e-mail to Olga Lanovaia, IJC program coordinator, at olanovaia@ijc.md, with copies to Cristina Mogildea, cmogildea@ijc.md. The reception of applications will be confirmed within two working days. The chosen applicants will be notified in writing or by telephone about the fact that they were selected.

The training is being organized by the Independent Journalism Center as a partner of the “Media Enabling Democracy, Inclusion and Accountability in Moldova” (MEDIA-M) project, funded by USAID and implemented by Internews. The MEDIA-M project aims to promote the development of independent and professional media in Moldova, ensuring citizens’ access to a diversity of perspectives and contributing to the resistance of the media sector to political and financial pressures.
