A local site recently broadcast a report, and claims to have taken it over from Al Jazeera Channel. The report is about a candidate for the position mayor of Chisinau municipality who supposedly said he would offer the capital of the Republic of Moldova for 50 years to Arab citizens, if he becomes a mayor. Journalists from StopFals investigated the issue and found that the video was faked.

Who orchestrates such misinformations? What are the main indicators of fake news? Are there any digital tools the journalists and media consumers may use to identify such materials? What does the Center for Combating Cyber Crimes of the National Investigation Inspectorate say in such cases?

The journalist Anastasia Nani speaks about this during the talk show ‘Media Azi’ with her guest – Lilia Zaharia, reporter at StopFals portal.
