To mark the Press Freedom Day, the Center for Independent Journalism, jointly with other media NGOs, initiated the Campaign “The Media and the People Demand: Stop Corruption!”. The Campaign is aimed at urging the journalists to act together and get involved in fighting corruption, which “affects the lives of the people in all areas: economic, social, cultural, education, justice”.

Bearing in mind that the media aim at promoting public interest and write for the people, media NGOs suggest that during May 4-8, 2015 media outlets publish and mention the slogan in newspapers and magazines, during TV and radio newscasts and thematic programs, as well as online.

“We urge and encourage you to be united and show that the media can be a watchdog of the society, draw attention to the pressing problems in the society and put pressure on state authorities for a real fight against corruption”, says the media NGOs' statement on the initiative.

It is worth mentioning that solidarity is also the topic of the video entitled “Unity Gives Strength”, which urges Moldovan journalists to be united and act autonomously.
