In over a month since the incident when one of the people accompanying the Democrat MP Constantin Tutu assaulted the Jurnal TV reporter Catalina Rosca, the prosecuting authority of the Police Inspectorate in Orhei that is in charge of the investigation has not reached a conclusion yet.

Asked by Media Azi, Eugen Bors, Head of Department at Orhei Police Inspectorate, stated that the complaint lodged on 9 March by Jurnal TV was being investigated and the prosecuting authority had not reached a conclusion on the case. The officials at the Inspectorate would not provide further details, claiming that they needed to protect the interests of the investigation.

The reporter involved in the incident was not sure whether the police had identified the person who had attacked her. Catalina Rosca expects the relevant authorities to clarify how could it happen that a journalist who had asked the Democrat MP Constantin Tutu a question was hit by one of his companions. The journalist and the management of Jurnal TV are looking forward to learning about the results of the police investigation.

It is worth reminding that on March 4, at Orhei District Court, where a criminal case regarding the murder in the Orhei Forest back in April 2012 was to be heard, and where MP Constantin Tutu was to testify as a witness, the journalist wanted to ask the MP a question on the topic. At that moment, one of the men accompanying him "hit me in the stomach with his elbow in an attempt to escape from the cameras and my questions," as stated by Catalina Rosca for jurnaltv.md after the incident.

The fact was confirmed by lawyer Roman Zadoinov, who witnessed what happened. "MP Tutu was accompanied by about seven people who were guarding him from all sides and acted as bodyguards. One of them hit the reporter in the stomach with his hand. Moreover, the bodyguards tried repeatedly to make the cameraman stop recording. I believe that in this case criminal prosecution must start and the guilty persons must be held criminally liable," said the lawyer.

Mr. Tutu's secretary, who also witnessed the incident, denied that the reporter had been assaulted.
