The BCC Issues Public Warning to CTC Mega and Jurnal TV

According to a press release of the Broadcasting Coordinating Council (BCC), it issued a public warning to television channels CTC Mega and Jurnal TV for violation of rules governing the placement of advertizing. This sanction was applied after examination of reports on the monitoring of broadcasting services of the two televisions in terms of compliance with legal requirements for the placement of advertizing.

The BCC has found that CTC Mega and Jurnal TV committed violations in terms of product placement, concealed advertizing and sponsorship.
The BCC issued the warning after, at the public meeting of 6 February 2014, it presented the monitoring results and issued public warnings to other 12 televisions for failure to comply with legal requirements for the placement of advertizing. At the same meeting the representatives of CTC Mega and Jurnal TV asked for postponing the examination of monitoring results for their own broadcasting services in terms of compliance with legal requirements for the placement of advertizing.

At the same time, the BCC decided to conduct repeated monitoring of broadcasting services provided by televisions Moldova 1, Prime, Canal 3, 2Plus, N 4, Publika TV, TV 7, Pro TV Chişinău, CTC Mega, Jurnal TV, Bravo, Muz TV, TVC 21, Noroc TV, Busuioc TV, RU-TV Moldova, ALT TV and Euro TV in terms of compliance with legal requirements for the placement of advertizing. The BCC will also conduct a general monitoring of broadcasting services provided by televisions Ren TV Moldova, RTR Moldova, Acasă în Moldova and A Film.
