According to the preliminary list developed by alegeri.md, among the MPs who will enter the new Parliament one can also see journalists, media owners and managers or individuals who practiced the journalism, thus having tangency with this activity.
Thus, the director of NTV Moldova television broadcaster, Adela Raileanu, is on PSRM list of MPs. Between 2007 and 2010 she was the director of Moldova 1 public TV channel. On 31 December 2009, a decision of the Council of Observers fired her for her failure to ensure balance and pluralism of opinions. According to Moldovacurata.md portal, Adela Raileanu held the interim position until 20 February. She was subsequently appointed as director of the NIT private channel, the license of which was withdrawn in 2011. Adela Raileanu worked for a while as press officer for the Communist Party. Recently, she was the director of NTV Moldova channel.

Raileanu run 34th on PCRM list at the Parliamentary Elections held on 30 November 2014. However, she wasn’t elected as MP. At this year’s elections, she was the 11th on PSRM list of candidates for the national constituency.
Another journalist who entered the Parliament is Dumitru Diacov, from the Democratic Party, known as the longest-serving MP since he held this position for two decades. On PD list we find another person who has tangency with the journalism – Otilia Dragutanu, who previously worked as a journalist. She first worked as reporter at Youth Shows editorial office from the National Radio. Later, for two years, she was a reporter at PRO TV Chisinau. Otilia Dragutanu was ranked 11th on PD’s list of candidates for the national constituency, after Dumitru Diacov, who ranked 10th.

ZdG previously wrote that, until 2009, Otilia Dragutanu had only one company registered on her name, i.e. ‘Anodilia’ SRL, founded in 2002 together with her cousin Anatolie Palade. The company owns the ‘Berlizzo Group’ brands, consisting of ‘Berlizzo Translation’ (translation agency), ‘Berlizzo Events’ (organisation of events), and ‘Communications Boutique’ (consultancy and public relations services). The other companies of Otilia Dragutanu, ‘Caro Travel’ (travel agency), ‘Otidia’ (trade) and ‘Mandot’ (pastry) were founded during 2011-2012.
The new Parliament is also to have two major media owners: the PD leader Vladimir Plahotniuc and the socialist Corneliu Furculita.

Vladimir Plahotniuc, the first candidate on his party’s list, continues to own the most media outlets through the General Media Group Corp. and General Radio Group INC Companies, where he holds 100% shares. General Media Group Corp. has broadcasting licenses for Prime TV and Publika TV television broadcasters, and General Radio Group INC – for Muz FM and Publika FM radio stations.
Corneliu Furculita, the 13th candidate on PSRM list still owns 100% shares of Exclusiv Media SRL – the company which provides advertising services, publishes ‘Argumenty i Fakty’ newspaper, manages NTV Moldova and THT Exclusive.
