​Adopt the Law on Advertising and Reform the Broadcasting Council. What else Does the Agreement Between PSRM and ACUM Provides as Regards Media

Demonopolise the advertising market, by adopting the Law on Advertising, and reform the broadcasting regulator – these and other provisions one can find in the Agreement signed on 16 September by the Socialist Party and ACUM bloc. The ‘Political Agreement’ was posted on the official Facebook page of the Deputy Chairman of the Parliament Ion Ceban, wrote TV8.MD.

The document also refers to ensuring fair market conditions for all media stakeholders in Moldova, including by reforming the Broadcasting Council. It also proposes to reform and depoliticise NPAI Teleradio-Moldova.
 

 

In regards to human rights and civil society, the Agreement provides for the adoption in the second reading of the draft Law Amending the Criminal and Contravention Codes in order to combat hate acts, after the adjustment of this draft according to the good international practices.

The Agreement also indicates the need to develop the draft Law on Cyber Security of Network and Information Systems.

The politicians also agreed on the approval of the legislation necessary for declassifying the information on the capital amnesty beneficiaries. Note that currently, the media has no access to the information on the individuals who submitted declarations according to the Law on Voluntary Compliance and Tax Incentives (known as ‘Tax Amnesty Law’).

The Agreement was signed by President Igor Dodon, Prime Minister Maia Sandu, Speaker Zinaida Greceanii and MPs Ion Ceban, Mihail Popsoi, Alexandru Slusari.
