When asked about their eagerness to financially support independent local media sources, 13% of the respondents claimed they would support them, 3% of them said they would certainly do so, and 10% would probably support them.
About a half of the respondents (47%) would definitely not financially support independent local media, and about a quarter (26%) would probably not support them. Therefore, the share of those not eager to support the local press financially amounts to 73%. 14% of the respondents refused to answer the question.

At the same time, the share of those who claim they will definitely support the press financially coincides with the number of persons who have subscriptions or make donations to a certain media source from the Republic of Moldova (3%). Besides, 8% of the respondents subscribe to movie and series websites, 5% to music platforms, and 1% of those surveyed have subscriptions to foreign press.

The research was conducted by Magenta Consulting Company and includes a nationally representative sample of 1.341 persons, with a margin of error of ± 2%. The Day After Recall (DAR) method was applied for this research, and the data was collected using the CAPI (computer-assisted personal interviews) method from October 24 to November 20, 2021.
