Following the recent resignation of former director of Moldova 1 public television, the Supervisory Board (SB) elected an interim director and announced a public contest for the position of director of public television. The voting procedure has led to discussions, and some experts said there is a conflict of interest from a member of the SB, who concurrently is the senior state councilor of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova.

The topic was discussed in the 49th edition of the “Media Azi” show, moderated by Nadine Gogu, Executive Director of the Independent Journalism Center. Her guests this time were Dragos Vicol, chairman of the Broadcasting Coordinating Council (BCC), and journalist Ion Terguta.

Find out what the protagonists of the show think about how legal this plurality of positions is. Also, see why membership in the Supervisory Board of the public company Teleradio-Moldova is incompatible with the position of senior state councilor of the Prime Minister and how this can affect the decisions of the SB.
