Media NGOs are expressing their concern about the deviations from the rules of professional ethics that some representatives of the journalistic community and media outlets have committed. Instead of objective coverage of the fight against corruption, they use manipulation and disinformation, as well as reprehensible methods that have nothing in common with journalism, acting as the puppet media of their funders.
Considering the recommendations of the Media Forum that has recently taken place in Chisinau, we are asking journalists to show professionalism and not let themselves be manipulated or bought by the political actors that are trying to take under control as many media outlets as they can.
We are also asking media owners not to use the media for political fight or for settling scores.
We are asking the Broadcasting Coordinating Council to monitor the behavior of the media, detect such abuses and take proper measures.
