The first Mass-Media Forum to take place on 27-28 October 2015

02.10.2015 / During 27 and 28 October 2015, Chisinau will host Mass-Media Forum in Republic of Moldova, expecting the participation of more than 120 journalists, publishers, media managers, other collaborators of editorial offices, representatives of media organizations and associations, advertising agencies, academic environment associated to professional journalistic education, national and foreign experts.
The Forum is organized for the first time by Press Council in Moldova, in partnership with the Association of Independent Press (API), Independent Journalism Center (IJC), Association of Electronic Press (APEL) and Young Journalist’s Center in Moldova (CTJM). The development of Forum is financed by Mass-Media Program of Soros-Moldova Foundation and co-financed by Council of Europe and East Europe Foundation. The organizers aims to debate the main problems faced by Moldovan journalistic community, to consult potential solutions with journalists and publishers, and to develop a ”Roadmap” for authorities, in order to establish and consolidate a loyal competition climate and editorial independence of mass-media institutions in Republic of Moldova.

The first day of the Forum will include one debate on public policies in mass-media sector and six workshops on the most acute topics for the activity of Moldovan mass-media institutions. On the second day, the organizers have invited three media experts from abroad to hold master-classes in various fields, and the last part of the event will culminate with the debate and approval of Forum Resolution and “Roadmap” for authorities. Officials from the Parliament and Government of Republic of Moldova, representatives of diplomatic corps and international missions, as well as some media experts, were invited to take part in the opening session of the event. Romanian language will be the working language of the Forum, with simultaneous interpretation into English and Russian languages during the opening and closure sessions of the Forum. The organizers will also invite some opinion leaders, activists, bloggers to Forum works within the limit of available seats.
The official page of Mass-Media Forum 2015 shall be the online platform www.mediaforum.md, where a special space has been created, comprising all information about the event, including the list of speakers and experts, Forum agenda, official communiques etc.
Beginning with 2 October 2015, the persons interested in participating at Mass-Media Forum works, including one of the six workshops and one of the three master-classes, may register online by filling in the application available on website. The organizers will process all registration applications and send confirmations to all selected persons. The list of participants will be published five days prior to beginning of the Forum.
