IJC Training and Communication Department will carry on the media literacy lessons for pupil from different regions of the country. During these activities, experienced journalists will explain to pupils how to avoid informational manipulation and form an accurate opinion about events that occur in the society. On 10 July, IJC, in partnership with Slovak Atlantic Commission, will bring together journalists, civil society representatives, Moldovan and foreign experts at a new meeting of the press club entitled "Minorities and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova".
During 10-11 July, IJC will conduct a training program for journalists from various national media outlets. The course will focus on professional coverage of issues related to minorities and socially vulnerable groups. The training aims at helping journalists prepare stories about these categories of people in a professional way and without departing from ethical norms. Also in July, IJC will organize a public event where it will launch a collection of journalistic materials that cover gender issues and will present a series of university curricula "Media Gender Coverage".
The activities of Media-Azi and Research Department will focus on monitoring media situation in the Republic of Moldova and across the world in order to identify general interest issues for media and civil society representatives. Most relevant issues in terms of observance of access to information and freedom of expression, compliance with journalistic norms and media law in force will be investigated, compiled and adapted for Media-Azi portal. As well, website users will be able to find recommendations and suggestions for fixing various problems journalists face, so that they could do their jobs as professionally as possible.
The Advocacy and Production Department (APD) will also produce two video spots for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, providing clearer explanations on the benefits of signing the EU-Moldova Association Agreement.
Media Law and Policy Department will launch a new issue of legislative bulletin for May-June, will continue providing consultancy on any media law issues, journalists' rights and duties, as well, will further offer free legal assistance to media outlets and journalists.
In July, the School of Advanced Journalism will carry on the second stage of admission campaign for study year 2014- 2015. During this period, for those who submitted their applications, interview and written test will be organized. Detailed information on admission conditions is available on www.scoaladejurnalism.md.
