Television broadcasters are the most used sources of information, followed by social networks, which are accessed more often than news or niche websites. Preference for the radio stations is much more infrequent, mainly in the first half of the day, and newspapers are more widely known and read by participants than magazines. These are the main conclusions of the National Survey on Media Audience, commissioned by the Independent Journalism Center (IJC) and conducted between 17 October and 11 November 2018 by Magenta Consulting sociological company. The survey included data on TV and radio, written and online media audiences in the Republic of Moldova, at urban and rural levels.

At the same time, 68% of them visit once a week and more often the Facebook social network, and 66% – Odnoklassniki. Of the total interviewees, 33% listened to the radio during the previous day and 21% said they read newspapers more than once a week. As much as 10% of survey participants regularly read at least one national magazine.

Prime TV, Moldova 1, and Jurnal TV are the most watched TV broadcasters nationwide, while Radio Noroc, Radio Moldova, and Radio Plai are the most listened radio stations. As regards the news websites, respondents often visit more than once a week the following websites www.protv.md, www.jurnaltv.md and www.publika.md. As far as the written media is concerned, Komsomolskaia Pravda, Makler and Argumentî i Faktî newspapers and VIP Magazin, Aquarelle and Agricultura Moldovei magazines are the best known among the respondents.
