The Government decision on approval of the Program of transition from analog to digital terrestrial television, approved “in principle” at the meeting of 7 May 2014, is still at the technical stage of re-examination.

According to representatives of the Bureau for Communication and Relations with the Press of the State Chancellery, the document had been returned for re-examination to ministries, which had to make the necessary changes and send the final version to the State Chancellery.

“The technical procedure of re-examination has been taking so long because the document is blocked in one of the ministries,” said Tatiana Cazacu, representative of the Bureau, without naming the ministry in question.

The program of transition from analog to digital terrestrial television involves technical aspects related to implementation of this type/format of television in our country, available resources, and stages and terms of implementation of the action plan for 2013-2015.

It should be noted that according to the obligations assumed by the Republic of Moldova, it is to finalize transition to digital terrestrial television by 17 May 2015.
