In her complaint, Tatiana Djamanov demanded that Marina Tauber be held accountable for having denigrated Radio Orhei media institution that she is representing and for having restricted access to information during the demonstration.
The journalist also annexed, as evidence, two footages of the said incident which are proof of the fact that Tauber stepped in brutally and attacked the journalist using a broom and offensive language, while she was interviewing one of the participants in the protest.
She told Media-azi.md that her son, Maxim Djamanov, was also assaulted at the same protest. Tatiana Djamanov added that she did not go to the Prosecutor's Office yet to report this case and that she was waiting to see what the Police Inspectorate will do about it. She’s also worried because of the threats that some of the protesters made against Radio Orhei.
Asked by Media-azi.md about the stage that the complaint of Tatiana Djamalov is at, the Press Officer of Orhei Police Inspectorate, Diana Maxim, said she would provide more details as soon as she receives concrete information about the matter. At the time when this news was published, no other details were provided to us.
The incident happened on the 5th of August, at a protest organised by ‘Sor’ party in Orhei. In the pictures posted on the internet, one can see Marina Tauber, who had a broom, verbally assaulting Tatiana Djamalov, telling her to go away and instigating the protesters against her.
The media organisations condemned ‘Sor’ party representatives’ aggressive behaviour and demanded that the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and the Prosecutor’s Office take the required measures against those who have incited the people participating in the demonstration of the 5th of August in Orhei against the Radio Orhei journalist.
