In corpore resignation of the members of the Broadcasting Coordinating Council (BCC) and release of the driver of the van who was retained after the protests on September 17 – these are two new demands voted at a new protest organized by extra-parliamentary parties Dignity and Truth Platform and Action and Solidarity Party on Sunday, October 1. Protesters once again demanded dismissal of the director of the public television, according to IPN.

Protesters delivered speeches and chanted slogans in front of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection and then marched to the office of the Moldova 1 public television, where they again demanded an hour of airtime per week for the opposition.

The protest continued in front of the office of Moldova 1, where a police cordon was at the time. Demonstrators expressed their dissatisfaction with the fact that the administration of public television did not accept the demand to provide one hour of airtime per week. Protest organizers said protests will continue, and the date will be announced later.

After protests, the director of the public television Moldova 1 Ecaterina Stratan announced last week that she would propose to the programs and administration councils of the Teleradio-Moldova company to launch a weekly show, “Ora partidelor” [“An Hour for the Parties”] where representatives of Moldovan political parties will be invited.
