The Broadcasting Council (BC) extends the term for filing the documents to the contest for filling two vacancies of the Council members by 15 days, after only one person applied for the initial competition.

On May 31, the term for filing applications to the contest for filling the vacancies of the SC members of the TRM expired: it was intended for selecting two new representatives of administrative territorial units outside Chisinau Municipality.

During the meeting held on June 8, the BC members decided to prolong the term for applying because there was only one person, Diana Josu-Braniste, a journalist from Ialoveni, registered for the contest so far.

During the meeting, Larisa Manole, the BC member, urged the journalists from the regions to take part in the contest, and the TRM was recommended to conduct the contest more actively.

On May 26, the mandates of the two members of the SB of the TRM, Alexandru Vasilachi and Veaceslav Vlad, expired.

The term of office of a member of the SB of the TRM lasts for six years. The Supervisory Board consists of nine members who are public figures having professional qualifications in such spheres as journalism, law, public relations, international relations, culture, cinema, financial management and commercial enterprise management, information and communication technologies, academic activities, mass media, and engineering. At least three representatives of administrative-territorial units located outside Chisinau Municipality have to be included in the SB of the TRM.
