Asked by Media Azi to speak on the issue, the representatives of the Broadcasting Coordinating Council (BCC) claim that they received no information about the change of license holders in these televisions.
Dinu Ciocan, member of the BCC, who is replacing BCC president Marian Pocaznoi while he is on vacation, said that he only read about the alleged alienation of the two televisions in the media. “We received no information so far,” the official said.
He claims that the administrators of media outlets have to submit to broadcasting regulatory authorities information about the changes occurring at their outlets. Otherwise, they risk being penalized for failure to inform the Council.
“If it is confirmed that these two televisions were completely taken over by other owners, the broadcaster must announce the Broadcasting Coordinating Council about it within 10 days,” Dinu Ciocan said.
He also added that if there is a transaction that changes the owner, the license will still belong to the same broadcaster, which will keep the same frequencies, and the broadcaster has to submit to the BCC updated information about the change of ownership within ten days.
